DAILY POST learnt that the assailants, who remain at large, managed to steal the police officer's rifle before fleeing the scene. It was also gathered that although the traditional ruler narrowly escaped harm, his aide, Kefas Tari Shehu, and Shehu's wife, Patience Tari, were not as fortunate, as they were abducted and taken to an undisclosed location.
According to a resident of the community, the attack took place around 10:30 pm, with men of the Nigerian Military arriving shortly after the gunmen had fled. The kidnappers have since contacted the victims' family, demanding N20 million ransom for their safe return. This is not the first time Wamba community has been attacked.
