Peoples Democratic Party groups that met in Kaduna ahead of the National Executive Council meeting of the Party scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2024 in Abuja, have called on the party to take disciplinary action against erring members, insisting that the Acting Chairman Damagum would not be sacked while Iyorchia Ayu’s court case is on.

The groups however, reminded those calling for the removal of Usman Iliya Damagum as acting chairman of the party that the case of the suspended Chairman, Iyorcha Ayu is still in court. Leaders of the two groups, Mr. Isaac Samuel and Dr. Muazzam Lawal Sadauki in the joint statement decried attacks on the personality of Damagum and the National Working Committee of PDP by some youths in the social media.

According to the statement, “despite all the sacrifices made by the NWC of the party during and after the 2023 general elections and subsequent activities of the party in the country, some people were paid to write and rubbish their leaders.”
