PDP chiefs, council blame Wike for Rivers’ crisis

Other party chieftains at the meeting, held in Port Harcourt, yesterday, included former PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; former Deputy Governor, Tele Ikuru; former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Austin Okpara; Celestine Omehia, Gloria Emeh, Emmah Okah, women leaders, youths and many others.

“The FCT minister has threatened publicly to destabilise the peace in Rivers State. The President has a duty to caution him. We, the Rivers people will not stand by while an individual decides that we will not sleep with our two eyes closed. The Holy Book says: ‘He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind’. If Wike troubles Rivers people, he shall surely inherit the wind.”

Stakeholders in agriculture standardisation and grading system have begun a validation exercise on the draft policy framework on standard grading system to ensure the sector complies with standards globally. Six members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, elected on the platform of the Labour Party , have formally announced their defection to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
