Osun court remands 3 for alleged exam malpractice

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Thursday, remanded three people for allegedly involving in malpractice during West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination .

It stated that the offence was contrary to and punishable under section 1 and punishable under section 1 of the examination malpractice Act .1999. The trio, however, pleaded not guilty to the four -count charge, bordering on conspiracy, breach of peace and examination malpractice leveled against them, as defence counsels, Kehinde Ajibola, Dolapo Awoyemi and Temitope Ayodele, jointly applied for bail for the defendants in the most liberal and affordable terms.

Meanwhile, the Department of State Security prosecutor, opposed the bail application by urging the court to remand the accused persons for the purpose of concluding investigation. The Magistrate, Mrs Adijat Oloyede, therefore, ordered that the defendants should be remanded at correctional centre .
