The explosion was said to have occurred when a tenant, simply identified as Ikechukwu, an auto mechanic, poured kerosene into a stove, which he had set alight.
It was learnt that the incident, which happened at about 8pm on Thursday on Ovunda Street, off Ikwerre Road, caused serious injuries to the two occupants of the house. “A lady inside his room didn’t sustain a serious injury like Okechukwu. Both of them were rescued and rushed to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital at about 8.45pm on Wednesday.”

Adulterated kerosene no doubt about that. Or it was mixed diesel, I once knew a guy who uses diesel in a kerosene stove.
Governor Wike please shutdown the state for one month. Kerosene is very dangerous. In less than 5 minutes one has died. COVID 19 has killed only 2 in Rivers since January and he shutdown the whole state. What a pity.
There is no reasonable doubt that the kerosene explosion is as a result of product adulteration.
