The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Mukan, has said the lockdown in the state as a result of COVID-19 has stalled the arraignment of the five suspected killers of the University of Port

Harcourt final year student, Joy Adoki, and two others.

Adoki, Nelson Nwafor and Fortune Obemba were abducted on April 7, 2020, and murdered in a forest in Eteo, Eleme Local Government Area of the state by the suspected kidnappers. The fourth and fifth suspects were later arrested on May 5, 2020, in Warri, Delta State and Imo State, respectively. He stated, “If it were not for this lockdown, we would have arraigned them today . We are trying to talk to the state attorney-general to see if we can get a window to prosecute them.
