Seven governorship aspirants seeking the All Progressives Congress ticket in Ondo State have expressed concerns over the revalidation of the party's membership register, citing fears of potential disruptions to the electoral process.
In a letter to the national chairman of the party, the aspirants stressed that despite paying N300 million to cover the yearly dues of all party members, the revalidation process lacked transparency, as most of the authentic party members could not revalidate their membership cards. The aspirants stated that the leadership of the party must make available the valid membership register certified by the Independent National Electoral Commission to them.
According to the group, in a statement by its Chairman, Tade Ogidan, President Bola Tinubu, as well as the national leadership of the party, must urgently intervene in the situation to prevent an avoidable crisis.
