The vice chancellor, Prof Joseph Afolayan who announced the results of the university’s first accreditation during an emergency Senate meeting said the commission granted full accreditation in 11 courses, while two others were given interim accreditation.
He said the result is an encouragement to the university and urged members of staff not relent in their efforts. The programmes presented for accreditation were accounting, economics; mass communication; business administration; political science; biochemistry; chemistry; computer science; mathematics; microbiology; physics; English and literary studies; and history & diplomatic studies.
