Seven senior police officers have been fired by the Nigerian Police Service Commission (PSC) for engaging in serious misconduct. The commission Tuesday also demoted 10 other officers for similar offences during its 15th plenary meeting which is slated to end on Thursday. Before the meeting chaired by the commission’s acting chairperson, Justice Clara Ogunbiyi, the pending disciplinary matters (PDM) before the commission were discussed and deliberated upon.

October 4, 2022Seven senior police officers have been fired by the Nigerian Police Service Commission for engaging in serious misconduct.

He added that one CSP, three SPs, and two DSPs had their ranks changed by the commission to SP, DSP, and ASP respectively, Daily Trust reports.There were 47 pending disciplinary matters before the commission for deliberation and some appeals from police officers who had been sacked.

Thirteen police officers received the punishment of reprimand while two others are to receive letters of warning while four officers were exonerated.
