1. Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has stated that an employee verification exercise uncovered names of babies in the payroll of Shani Local Government Area in the State. The monthly salaries and allowances paid to fake employees including the babies were reportedly siphoned by corrupt officials.

3. The crisis of confidence between aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress and the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led national caretaker committee took a turn for the worse on Saturday. This followed the decision of supporters of the Senator Kabiru Marafa-led faction of the party in Zamfara State to hold fresh congresses to elect new state officials for the party.

5. The federal government and United Arab Emirates, UAE, have agreed to restore flights between both countries. Flights were suspended in March following disagreement over COVID-19 protocol. The Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika who disclosed the latest development in Abuja, said that the ban was lifted after Emirates airlines removed its stringent conditions slammed on Nigerian travellers.

7. Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, says nobody in his set as pioneer students at the faculty of Humanities, UNIPORT graduated with a first class degree in 1981, but members of the set have not disappointed the institution and Nigeria in their calling. He said this when he led members of 1981 set of the institution on a visit to the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and emeritus Professor of History, Abiegberi Joe Alagoa.
