Following complaints by car owners regarding dearth of qualified technicians, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), yesterday, opened a five-day training in Kano to address the issue.

House of Representatives member, Mustaphar Bala Dawaki ; Executive Vice Chairman/ Chief Executive of NASENI, Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna; Secretary to Kano State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji; Senator Mas’ud El-Jibriln Doguwa; representative of the Majority Leader, Federal House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa and one of the participants during the Training and Youths Empowerment Programme organised by NASENI in Kano.

He said: “Without the training and retraining of current crop of Nigeria’s auto-technicians, they would continue to be thrown out of jobs and the larger society could not afford to allow such trend to continue, because of its negative socio-economic implications. Also speaking Secretary to the State Government , Alhaji Usman Alhaji, lauded NASENI for the workshop, noting that the programme has addressed unemployment and frustrations of automobile owners.
