Mohammed who was responding to a question on why the building was not confiscated rather than demolished, said the action taken was as a last resort following a breach by the original owner. The minister told Journalists that government action was not meant to deprive anyone from possessing assets in the Federal capital city as it is for every one, the government he however said is determined that the master plan is not violated.

“As a matter of fact that all the regulations were there – that property is no longer owned, it has been reverted to government because it is very clear, check any C-of-O, you will see the conditions. “If there is a flagrant abuse and there are no efforts to correct that abuse, it reverts back to government. He therefore urged Nigerians to ”go that extra mile and follow the law.”But the Managing Director of the club, Maxwell Eze, had lamented that the notice was given on Friday with a 21-day notice which was reduced to 48 hrs.He added that N500 million worth of equipment had been lost in the demolition which has rendered a direct staff strength of 105 unemployed.

Club owner breaks down as Abuja authorities desmolish 'N500 million' Caramelo bar - Premium Times NigeriaThe demolition comes less than a month after authorities raided the famous night club, arresting dozens of women. For what offence exactly? I'm never a fan of clubbing but is running a club illegal? Was the building an illegal structure? What's the basis of this demolition? Registered as a clinic and changed fraudulently to a club. Nigerians will never change. Gosh The demolition defies logic and sound reasoning. In a fragile economy, I still can't fathom the common sense in pulling down the structures alongside everything in it. No explanation can conceal the insensitivity, cruelty and wickedness exhibited I am still in shock.
