JUST IN: Gunmen kill monarch in Ebonyi community

It was gathered that there was heavy shootings in the community by the gunmen during the invasion which caused pandemonium in the area as the people scampered for safety.He noted that the attack on the community occured at about 10:pm on Friday last weekend.

“Around 10pm last Friday, I received a call that there was shooting in the house of our traditional ruler, that after the shooting, it was discovered that our traditional ruler has been killed and that is the traditional ruler of Umuihe Autonomous Community, Akaeze, HRH Eze Umazi Ibo Ubani. “His voice is loud in Ebonyi State, he is a first class traditional ruler. The killing is a very bad incident”, he stated.Another stakeholder from the community, Sinbad Ogbuatu said the incident occurred late in the night on that last Friday.

“Immediately we got a distress call on the incident, we swung into action and the assailants have already left the scene by the time our men moved to the scene but we are trailing the assailants”, he said.“We are committed relentlessly within the ambit of the law to ensure that perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book and justice given to the slain Traditional Ruler.
