The Laila Dogonyaro Islamic Centre Abuja weekend in Abuja graduated its first set of students of Quranic recitation,at its maiden Walimatul Qur’an.The centre is named after one of the first female activist in a northern Nigeria who championed participation of women in politics in Nigeria, Lailah Dogonyaro.at the event, one of her daughters, Hajiya Binta Dogonyaro, said the centre which kicked off on October 21, 2017, was born out of the need to portray Islam in a positive light.
