Inikorogha, Ijaw community in Edo gears up for electrification first time ever - Punch Newspapers

“I am elated by the award of the contract for the project. This is particularly so because the inhabitants of this community will begin to enjoy electricity by being connected to the national grid.

“We are not just talking of electrification here but the multiplier effects of this project. It will surely spur commercial activities in the area. “This is not just going to be another sing-song project; the contractor has been fully mobilised to immediately commence the execution of the project,” Idahosa stated.

The community described as “unbelievable ” the news of the electrification project and commended Idahosa for fulfilling his campaign promise to the people. The spokesman of the community and ex-militant, Robert Okubor, said this is first of its kind for the ijaw community in the state.
