Following the gory events that laced the #EndSARS protests across the country, in 2020, a collective of musicians was birthed, with one sole mission: to create impactful music.

And after two years, the 5-member group under the moniker, Inestimable, have stepped out with a soul-stirring debut album dubbed, Listen To The Music.

When the team comprising EOD, Didi, Fosa, Neked and Jordan Styls first released the single, Better Days, it was clear that this was the renaissance of power-house collectives, which have waned since the days of Mo’Hits, Choc Boiz and LOS. And their later releases, Superwoman, and Jungle, were rubber-stamp proofs that this was a team of individuals glimmering with hardcore talent.

Within this 8-tracker debut album, Inestimable proves their mettle as a conclave of rap, Afro-pop and Afro-RnB mavericks, dishing out didactic, pensive, yet groovy bops through the mid-tempo record. It is a thoroughly pleasuring record, soaring with a high replay value. On the intro, No Wasting Time, Fosa and Jordan Styls and EOD, serve a typical Afro-Pop/RnB melody, which sets the pace for the record. After the first two tracks, the album strays away from its love-themed direction delving into more introspective climes with the songs On My Grind, Jungle, Listen To The Music and Bless Me.

The album is a very relatable soundpiece, with a heightened vibrancy and feel-good appeal. In a chat with Weekend Beats, the group said the album was inspired “by the realities of the average Nigerian youth. We wanted to tell stories that send a message of hope and positivity amidst the everyday struggle.
