• Borno CP, DSS boss charge clerics to preach peace at RamadanResidents said the bandits had wreaked havoc in the community before heading for the mosque, where they shot sporadically and took away their victims.

“The command is aware of the attack, and this morning, the Divisional Police Officer , local council chairman and other stakeholders within that area had a crucial meeting to map out ways of tracing the kidnappers and getting those people rescued. Officially, one was killed and seven were kidnapped,” he said.

In a statement yesterday, police spokesman in the state, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said that terrorists invaded two communities on Tuesday and the early hours of yesterday. THE Borno State Police Command and Directorate of State Services have charged Islamic clerics to preach peaceful coexistence during Ramadan.

MEANWHILE, the Coalition of Ethnic Youth Nationalities from Plateau North Senatorial Zone, the Christian Association of Nigeria , Plateau State chapter, youth and women wings, yesterday, gathered at the Government House to protest against the recent killings in Bassa communities.
