Immunity For Presiding Officers Breach Of Public Trust —SERAPNigeria| Sahara Reporters The organisation said the bill was tantamount to ripping up the Nigerian constitution. nassnigeria READ MORE:

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has said that the bill seeking to give immunity to presiding officers of the legislative arm of government at both federal and state levels was a breach of public trust.

He said, “Providing immunity for presiding officers against crimes of corruption is tantamount to ripping up the constitution. It’s a blatant assault on the rule of law and breach of public trust. “Countries like Guatemala voted unanimously to strip their president of immunity from prosecution for corruption, our own lawmakers are moving in the opposite direction.”

If the head of the Executive Arm of Government enjoys immunity (President and Vice, State Govs & Dep) then the head of the Lagislature and Vice also deserve immunity. Same for the head of Judicial Arm of govt. Or we withdraw all immunities.

No immunity please. We must all be chargeable and prosecutable.

They only care about themselves. At a time we are clamouring to remove that of other public officers and these set of elements want to trample upon us. To iya n la ba gbe ni san le kekere náà a tún gùn ori é.

Fraud !
