The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it has given a grace period of three months to 366 institutions found to have offered illegal admissions to regularise the status of the affected students.learnt that each of the affected students in the institutions would have to pay N5,000 each as a penalty.

In an interview with our correspondent, the spokesperson of the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, had also added that the board would no longer condone the issue of illegal admissions. The document partly read, “The board introduced the Central Admissions Processing System in 2017 as the transparent platform for all admissions. Regrettably, some of the institutions continued to admit some, indeed, large numbers of candidates unknown to JAMB, thereby, jeopardising the interest of such candidates admitted through the under-the-table deals.
