A now viral photo also showed the building leaning towards the right barely days before it came crumbling down. The General Manager of LASBCA, Gbolahan Oki, also stated after the building collapsed that the materials used in constructing it were inferior. According to the activist, whenever a building is being constructed and it strays from its approved plan, unscrupulous government officials only mark the building not in the spirit of enforcement, but in a bid to extort money. The senior advocate said once money exchanged hands; the government officials would turn a blind eye.
