Commercial operators of tricycles, popularly called Keke Napep, have withdrawn their services in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, claiming it was in protest against men of the FRSC and Police who have allegedl

y turned them into meal tickets.

The operators said they were protesting the “incessant harassment, extortion and intimidation” by officers of the state Ministry of Transport, the Police, men of the Federal Road Safety Corps and other security agencies.

This is the time government should protect these tricyclists as was done in Obasanjo era. It's for poverty alleviation. They are vulnerable to extortions.
