The Kwara State Police Command has said it rescued five members of the household of Oba Samuel Adelodun, in the Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.They are the king’s driver, identified only as Kunle; his security guard, Lawrence Abiodun; his maid, Bunmi Akanbi; and her twin six-year-old daughters, Taiwo and Kehinde.
The victims were returning from Osi, a neighbouring community, to Obbo-Ayegunle, in a Toyota Sienna, when the gunmen accosted them around 6.30pm and took them into the bush. The Toyota Sienna minibus in which they were travelling, bearing the number plate of Owalobbo of Obbo-Ayegunle, was abandoned on the road.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, in a statement on Sunday, said the rescued victims were in good health. “The Kwara State Police Command is pleased to inform members of the public of the successful search and rescue operations conducted in the kidnap incident involving twin girls of his HRM Oba Samuel Adelodun, the Owalobo of Obbo Ayegunle, in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, and three servants on October 14, 2021.
Am I the only one that still think rescuing people who were kidnapped by the police are most times out of luck? Because I still pause to wonder if we have any tactical team for this kind of duties. And by tactical I don't mean 'Sars or Nigeria's Pseudo-SWAT' team
