“I, therefore, call on residents of the state to cooperate with the command by giving adequate and useful information to the police. We should all join hands together to make the Gateway State one of the most peaceful states in the country.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police urged the people of the state to expose the hoodlums that invaded the state congress held by the APC faction of the former state governor, Ibikunle Amosun with guns. Some hoodlums believed to be members of the transport union were said to have masterminded the gunshots with a view to disrupting Amosun’s faction congress at Ake palace ground in Abeokuta.
When asked if the police had arrested the perpetrators of the criminal act, the Commissioner of Police said, “We expect the public to give us information on what transpired. “I will be frank with you, news has been flying around that many people were injured and some killed. Up till now, we have not recovered any dead bodies and we have not seen any injured person.“We are receptive to whatever information will help us in our investigation.”
