The Federal Government has given instructions to electricity distribution companies to resume the Metre Assets Providers programme, recently slowed down by the National Mass Metering Programme.

Although the DisCos’ MAP has been in existence for some years, the NMMP programme under the office of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was introduced in 2020 to bridge the wide metering gap in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, NESI.

Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Garuba Sanusi, said last week that Phase 1 of the Federal Government’s NMMP was billed to begin in August, and as a result, DisCos had been ordered to resume and speed up on the MAP.

I paid 85k to get a meter

Hope IBEDc officials for my area dey read newspaper sha...becos I go fall person ladder this week.

Free? They never do it for free

Customers have no business paying for metres in the first place, it is the responsibility of the DISCOs. NERCNG must ensure they do their job.

Something that you'll pay through your subscription.

What sort of lies is this self? It has never been free! People pay 60k and more to acquire these 'free' meters and y'all know. Apply on the hopes of free and it takes forever to get it. Pathetic nonsense 🙄

Resume ke....like the ones the distributed was free. It was never free o. We dey buy am o

My own meter is free but I payed token jst 68k

Nonsense people

We don't have it here

People that collected 20k from us. Madness.

When will they stop misleading people? Everyone is saying they paid nothing less than 65k to get the metre and government is telling the world that it is free. What is EFCC and ICPC doing to bring those behind this scam to book

They ll make you pay one way or the other. I paid up to 200k in excess to get prepaid meter after many months of chasing IE officials. During that time I was forced to pay atleast 60k per mth for one year plus. This is for 2 bedroom flat with only 2 adults working 9-5 & a baby

Freedom 😂😂😂

Now Metre will disappear. But when they lift the ban for sale metre will be every where. Scam... Pls go get ur PVC for Peter Obi.

Freedom party.

This government just like deceiving itself. Which free meter?!!

Free meter.....Lori iro

Until I see mine before I will believe

Amen o

65k to get it. Nothing is free in Nigeria

Still better

Free indeed... Waiting for free metre is like waiting for a lizard to grow hair.

Scam

Story

Nothing like free metre. They'd keep deducting from your recharge. It's fraud!
