COVID-19: NSCDC deploys 300 officers in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has deployed 300 officers across the state.

The command said Thursday that the deployed operatives would be working to sensitize the people on coronavirus and enforce social restrictions intended to prevent outbreak or spread of the virus. The state commandant of the corps, Nurudeen Abdullahi, told newsmen on Thursday in Yola that the personnel, working in collaboration with sister security agents, as well as health workers and members of the Adamawa State Taskforce Against the Spread of COVID-19, would ensure the safety of the people against the deadly virus.

According to him, officers of the command had on Wednesday dispersed a group of people who gathered for a wedding party at the Conference Hall of the Federal Secretariat in the state capital, Yola. Explaining that the deployment was a directive from the NSCSC headquarters in Abuja, Nurudeen Abdullahi said, “The trained operatives drawn from crisis management department, divisional offices and area commands will be on surveillance duty, enforcing social restrictions and responding to coronavirus emergency.”Related Topics:
