Caramelo Nightclub situated in Abuja has been demolished by the Federal Capital Territory administration.But the Managing Director of the club, Maxwell Eze, lamented that the notice was given on Friday with a 21-day notice which was reduced to 48hrs.According to him, 500million naira worth of equipment had been lost in the demolition which he says has rendered a direct staff strength of 105 unemployed.
Caramelo was one of the places of leisure raided by the FCT administration recently and security personnel have been accused of gender-based violence and arbitrary arrest of women accused of commercial sex work.
