Buhari spoke at the State House, Abuja, while inaugurating the National Council on Climate, shortly before presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, identified climate change as one of the major challenges facing humanity.

“Updated data show increases in sea level rise, heat waves, wildfires, floods, desertification, drying wetlands and many more disruptive climate occurrences. “We cannot ignore what is happening in our local environment. The increasing recurrence of floods in several parts of the country is a wakeup call.”

Earlier, Minister of Environment, Mohammed Abdullahi, thanked the President for “walking the talk” on climate change at the international, regional and national level, demonstrating leadership towards Nigeria’s quest for net-zero by 2060.

Buhari receives envoys, says Nigerians united despite diversityThe President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday in Abuja said Nigerians are not only multi-ethnic and multi-cultural but also enjoy “unfettered” freedom of speech and robust political discourse. FALSE! FALSE! FALSE! NO ONE HAS DONE MORE TO DIVIDE NIGERIANS THAN BUHARI! IT'S SAD HE THINKS THE ENVOYS ARE IGNORANT OF HAPPENINGS IN THE NATION! How an old man will open his mouth and be telling lies baffles me immensely. No your Excellency, you will be leaving this country more divided than you met it in 2015 through tribalism, ethnocentric chauvinism and nepotism. What Nigerians need right now is a president who sees our diversity as a strength rather than weakness. Bring back federal character!
