The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has condemned plans by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to enforce a sit-at-home in the Southeast on Thursday.

DAILY POST reports that the secessionist group had in a statement on Tuesday, insisted that sit-at-home would be observed in the region on Thursday, saying May 30th remains crucial for Igbo people. The exercise, according to IPOB , is to honour those who died during the Civil War between 6 July 1967 and 15 January 1970. Despite the ongoing West African Examinations Council, WAEC , examination, IPOB said there would be no movement in the region on Thursday.

The statement reads, 'We condemn any move to disrupt the exams of over 300,000 WAEC students from the South East zone writing their mathematics subject in the ongoing WAEC examination on Thursday. 'This is an international examination that cuts across so many countries and it will be gross insensitivity and an act of wickedness to stop our students from participating.
