reports that the strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities entered its 140th day on Monday , while the strike declared by the Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and other Allied Institutions, which began on March 25, 2022 also entered the 68th day today.
In a statement made available to journalists on Sunday, SERAP’s Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, noted that the government’s failure to meet ASUU’s demands, implement the agreement it had with the union and satisfactorily resolve the issues, has kept poor Nigerian children at home while the children of the country’s politicians attend private schools.
“Apart from being a right in itself, the right to education is also an enabling right. Education creates the voice through which rights can be claimed and protected, and without education, people lack the capacity to achieve valuable functioning as part of the living.
Zeblun20 Hummm terrible
And people still want APC
Shameless government ever, I'm even sure the president is not even aware
Hmmmmm
Wetin concern FG non of the children of so called politicians schooled in nigeria and the ones here are in private university.
I want to remind some of you that the longest ASUU strike was done during the PDP years and it lasted for 6 months. Bad governance has no political party.
From 1999-2022, ASUU has embarked on a continuous strike action for 4.6yrs & counting. This is immoral & self-serving. All in the name of attempting to put pressure on the gov't into taking action to meet their demands. Either you're doing it wrong, or the gov't doesn't rate you.
And APC still has so much students supporters! Nigerian electorates are the most confused, they don't bother about the issues that matter.
My advice for young ones out there is that you learn a skill with this opportunity don’t waste it please it’s very important, with a skill you won’t be relying on anyone or the government in or after school, this country is finished don’t use I am still in school as an excuse.
How many days do we have in a year ?
People dat know what dey are doing. Few weeks to elections, they will make Assu to call off d strike, to disenfranchise students, since dey ve all registered at their various homes during d strike & can't vote while in school. Awon werey. God wil deliver Nigeria frm their claws
This is so so sad and heart breaking 😪. I pray after this strike Asuu don't go on strike atleast for 2yrs or plus
Ile oko ya🤣
Next level
This ASUU strike has lingered for too long already..... This time too shall pass. Attached below is what I do for a living, kindly patronise me and help me retweet my craft... Thank you 🤍....
