In furtherance of its restructuring as a multimedia company for optimal operations, The Guardian Group has hired Ms. Judith Akatugba as its Commercial Director.

Akatugba began her career in media sales & marketing in 2005 as an admin executive at Point Blank Media Concepts. In the same year, she veered into business development as it was a natural fit for her passion to optimise assets, processes and business opportunities and thus grew to become the Assistant Business Development Manager because of her outstanding sales performance in selling PBMC’s telenovella assets – Lorenzo’s Wife and most-watched Second Chance.

The then Continental Broadcasting Service now known as TVC Communications offered her an opportunity to cross from independent content production into television and radio broadcast environment as an Assistant Business Development Manager for the group’s portfolio that includes TVC Entertainment and Radio Continental now Max FM where she later rose to become the Business Development Manager for the group due to her outstanding performance of meeting and surpassing her monthly revenue target...

In the course of her service, Akatugba took on the challenge and worked with her team to turn around the commercial outcomes of these stations. TVC Entertainment especially grew to become one of the most-watched TV stations in Lagos within a few years. Her monthly advertising patronage also saw a remarkable increase in performance.
