Cameroon captain, Vincent Aboubakar, has hit out at Egypt captain, Mohamed Salah, ahead of both sides’ 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, semi-final tie on Thursday night.
Aboubakar, who is currently the 2021 AFCON top scorer, said that Salah is not at the same level as Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe. The 30-year-old said that Salah doesn’t impress him much, adding that the Liverpool star doesn’t produce a lot of stuff in the game.“I say it clearly because I am an honest person and I have my way of seeing things. If he impressed me, I would say so. But he doesn’t impress me much.
“He is a good player, he scores a lot, but he doesn’t produce a lot of stuff in the game. Of course, he is doing good stuff in the Premier League because he is been in a team that’s been there for years.Aboubakar was the hero for Cameroon when they defeated Egypt with Salah in action in the final of the 2017 AFCON edition in Gabon.
The winner in today’s tie between Cameroon and Egypt will take on Senegal in the AFCON final on Sunday.
