East Texas faces the biggest chance for severe weather conditions.

Lightning appears to have hit the top of Hotel Indigo as an approaching thunderstorm moved over downtown Dallas, Wednesday afternoon, June 21, 2023.After a rainy Christmas Eve let up for a cloudy Christmas Day, another round of thunderstorms are expected to roll through North Texas Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, storms will develop west of Interstate 35 Thursday morning about 8 a.m. and push into far east Texas by late afternoon. The prime time for stronger conditions in Dallas-Fort Worth starts about noon, forecasts predict, but chances for storms will linger from about 10 a.m. through 2 p.m.Here is our latest thinking regarding today's thunderstorm time line. A few storms may be severe, particularly this afternoon east of the I-35 corridor.
