Six Flags Great Adventure is seeking to demolish Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro to make way for a new roller coaster.
Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure, once the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster , might be repurposed into a newer coaster. Six Flags Great Adventure filed permits this month to demolish Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro, the orange drop ride attached to Kingda Ka's track. It's unclear when demolition will begin, but park officials have promised a 'multi-world-record-breaking launch roller coaster ' to open in its footprint in 2026.
Kingda Ka opened in 2005 and reached speeds of 128 miles per hour. It was dethroned as the fastest coaster in 2010 and was expected to be replaced as the tallest by another ride in Saudi Arabia
