While central Pennsylvania is expected to receive rain starting early Friday morning, northern parts of the state could see freezing rain and a bit of snow, promptingChambersburg, Carlisle, Lebanon, York and Lancaster are all predicted to see rain starting around 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday, with up to a half-inch of rain by 7 p.m. in Lancaster and Chambersburg.
A soaking rainfall is expected to expand across the area late tonight into early Friday morning. While most of the precipitation is expected to be just rain, areas in the northeast could see a glaze of ice where temps tonight will be coldest before a transition to all rain.Forecasters are calling for just under a half-inch of rain in Harrisburg and York in the same period.
