Mixed doubles Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai also reached the quarter-finals.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying defeated South Korea’s Choi Solgyu-Shin Seung Chan 21-13, 21-13 in the second round while Soon Huat-Shevon eliminated France’s Thom Gicquel-Delphine Delrue 21-16, 21-14. However, Malaysian youngsters Man Wei Chong-Pearly Tan lost 21-18, 21-13 to Indonesia’s Hafiz Faisal-Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.

Also falling in the second round were men’s doubles, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, who went down 21-15, 21-11 to Marcus Fernaldi Gideon-Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia. In women’s doubles, Pearly-M.Thinaah were beaten 22-20, 21-15 by Greysia Polii-Apriyani Rahayu of Indonesia.
