'A bandit walks into a coffeehouse and it all goes downhill from there...'

Described as a"wuxia-inspired fantasy novella", Cho’s book is the story of Guet Imm, a nun who gets involved with a group of bandits. The book is published by Tor.com Publishing.

“Some time ago I got an idea for a wuxia-inspired story about a displaced nun who joins a group of bandits. But it only came to life when it collided with my interest in the contentious period of Malaysian history known as the Emergency. The result owes as much to Petronas holiday ads as to Jin Yong, ” said Cho in a statement on tor.com, in reference to Jin Yong, author ofJin Yong was universally regarded as the most influential Chinese wuxia novelist of the 20th century.

Cho, 34, was born and raised in Malaysia, and now resides in Britain. She is the author of short story collection
