Zaqhwan yang mewakili pasukan Idemitsu Honda Asia Dream Racing with SHOWA berada di tangga kedua dengan kutipan 153 mata, berbanding pencabarnya daripada pasukan Yamaha Racing Team ASEAN yang terus mengungguli kedudukan teratas kelas ASB1000 dengan kutipan 188 mata selepas lima perlumbaan.

“Sasaran saya di Sepang adalah untuk menjadi juara berganda . Jika saya mampu melakukannya, maka saingan di Buriram, nanti akan menjadi detik penentu siapa yang bakal menjadi juara keseluruhan musim ini. Berbanding pasukan lain, saya tidak boleh mengharapkan bantuan rakan sepasukan untuk melancarkan strategi perlumbaan. Saya perlu bekerja keras untuk mencapai kejayaan kerana saya satu-satunya pelumba pasukan Idemitsu Honda Asia Dream Racing with SHOWA yang beraksi dalam kelas ASB1000 ini,” kata Md Zaqhwan dalam satu kenyataan dikeluarkan ARRC, hari ini.

Untuk rekod, anak jati Selangor itu sudah meraih dua kemenangan, iaitu pada pusingan pertama di Sepang pada Mac lalu, selain di Litar Antarabangsa Zhuhai, China pada bulan lepas. Pusingan terakhir ARRC 2019 akan berlangsung di Litar Buriram, Thailand pada November nanti. - BERNAMA
