Zaliha signed off on nicotine exemption with ‘heavy heart’, says MMA FMTNews

Health minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa met with the Malaysian Medical Association yesterday to explain the government’s decision to exempt nicotine from the Poisons Act.

It was also attended by the Malaysian Pharmacists Society, National Cancer Society of Malaysia, Malaysian Council for Tobacco Control, as well as ministry officials. He said Putrajaya could have waited just one or two more months for the Control of Tobacco Products and Smoking Bill 2022 to be tabled and passed before proceeding with the exemption.

The government must also show it remains committed to the generational endgame policy which sought to prohibit the sale and use of any form of smoking material, including electronic cigarettes and vape products, to individuals born after Jan 1, 2007, he said.“All the tax revenue collected from the vape industry might not even be enough to pay for the medical costs to treat health issues caused by vape addiction.

DrZalihaMustafa should learn to say 'No' to wrong decisions. That's a sign of a emotionally strong leader. As pointed out, she could have waited till that tobacco bill that is scheduled to be tabled in May, to be passed first... Never mind, let's hope all goes well...

On who's instruction?

Settle the contract doctor case la...

X susah pun, tangguh saja dulu sampai ruu lulus nanti DrZalihaMustafa

I don't understand. Then why sign off?

Acting only.....

Now they assigned you an advisor.
