Presiden UMNO, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi berkata, Mohamad atau lebih dikenali sebagai Tok Mat merupakan pemimpin yang baik dan mesti menang dalam Pilihan Raya Kecil Dewan Undangan Negeri Rantau.
Beliau berkata demikian dalam Majlis Ramah Mesra sempena PRK DUN Rantau di Taman Angsamas, Rantau di sini malam tadi. “Kalau kerajaan hendak turunkan umur mengundi dari 21 kepada 18 tahun, buatlah. Kita yakin golongan muda akan bersama kita,” katanya.
