Zahid eyeing DPM post

THIS may sound incredible, but a campaign of sorts has started in Umno to push Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for the deputy prime minister post.

Strange things are happening every day in Malaysia’s politics and Ahmad Zahid’s bid for the DPM post has to be one of the strangest.His support is most obvious in his home state of Perak where the majority of division heads have credited him for enabling Umno to form the Umno-Pakatan Harapan government.“It’s like living in the twilight zone. Just two weeks ago we were fighting Pakatan, now we are in government with them,” said Pasir Salak vice-chief Dr Faizal Tajuddin.

As Ahmad Zahid, who turned up towards the end of the gathering, was making his speech, those on the floor began calling out for him to accept the DPM post.The shock of having to team up with the enemy has subsided and Umno politicians are buying into the narrative that Ahmad Zahid saved the party from languishing on the opposition bench.The Umno rank-and-file dislikes DAP but their distrust of Perikatan Nasional is greater.

He pointed out that neither the Bar Council nor Bersih, vocal advocates against corruption, had objected to Lim’s appointment. The more important question is how Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim sees the situation. It could set back his administration even before it can take off.

Its not. Not so much of Zahid. Its the mandate given by BN party. In due course, if he is guilty then naturally he has to give up both as BN president and DPM. Next person from BN will take over. Allow the process to go through.

If anwar appoints court cluster MPs as cabinate ministers we can be sure the Malaysian parliement will be a circus full of clowns.

strange? We're talking Malaysian politics. A man who is in front of the courts for stealing multi-millions from his fellow countrymen just ran in an election where he had a chance (albeit not great) to become PM. Strange or somewhat common

It is not enough for this APE to be the King of the Jungle, he wants a ministerial position to be free from prosecution and to resort back to his swindling, money laundering ways. Having him in the Cabinet line-up would be an insult to the judicial system and laws in Malaysia.

we need not merge Ministries but one way out is to group them together into CLUSTERS ie Pendidikan eg KPM, KPT etc and appoint one Minister to be in-charge but all KSU will be given additional kuasa to manage their Ministries
