This is the first time I see a senior doctor threatening junior doctors with the Hippocratic oath.
It is also not impossible to reconcile the strike with the Hippocratic oath. The oath is only between the patient and doctor, and has nothing to do with doctors and their managers. While I don’t expect the DG to support their action, I do expect the DG to behave better than threatening them with the Hippocratic oath.Politics, personal ambition, greed, incompetence, untruths and abuse has destroyed what was once a great healthcare system.
The incompetent Covid-19 response and management are putting frontliners lives at stake, while fools and morons reigned supreme and are playing politics. You can’t really blame them either as they would lose their jobs if the PN government collapses. So, it becomes every person for themselves.

Comment by OCT is spot on!Contract doctors did well;there were caring seniors 2 take their places when they were on strikeso Hippocratic Oath was nobly upheld,in spite of strike. DG comes out looking poorer in this. Perhaps titles(Tan Sri etc)should only be bestowed on retirees..
I still remember former DG of Education Dato' Ahmad Sipon. He will fight all out for the teachers career path becos he knows they deserve it. So DG Health now is the time for you to do justice to the contract Doctors.
Because he is full of it and so a big part of the problem. His job is not to spend all his time holding press conferences and briefings. His political masters are doing that already
