YOURSAY | ‘Mahathir is doing what he does best, divide and rule.’

Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin, since you are “quite happy” to remain in Umno after being invited to join Bersatu by its youth chief, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, how about being the first to apologise for the 1MDB scandal?Syed Saddiq invited Khairy, his predecessor in the Youth and Sports Ministry, to “better position Bersatu as a centrist party for the Malay community”?

All the best. The new Malaysia ship has sailed. The Umno boat is beyond salvage. Even the vultures have declined the crumbs for fear of contamination.

Of course, this is all in hope that Umno isn’t beyond salvaging by then, which is the case for MCA and MIC now.Not because they do not want ‘Malay unity’, but primarily because they cannot see themselves uniting under the patronage of Bersatu and Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad, whom they see as the man solely responsible for the splintering of the Malays today.Mahathir is going against the spirit of ‘New Malaysia’. We voted Umno out. Now he wants them in.

So while the old man's pride is left intact, Syed Saddiq swallows the ignominy of having been slighted by Khairy previously in extending Bersatu's invitation to him. We'll have to keep watching this space for the full denouement to play out. So the inevitable question now is: whither Anwar Ibrahim, or even Azmin? Why just invite Umno and PAS members to join Bersatu? Why not invite any member of the opposition to join Harapan?

Pambu mamak

Mamak kutty is a sly and conniving old fox. Wouldn't touch this irricogible racist with a barge pole

Apa gunanya membawa masuk ahli UMNO Dalam Bersatu, kata Malaysia Baru ke arah kecemerlangan, kenapa pula ke arah kehancuran lagi.

Politicians mileage run

🐍

Why not bersatu join bn..take all your members.

This is politic... For survival you need supporters... If you are naive then you will be as you be... The others side of goverment.

The truth surface !!! Hyjack of reformacy !!! GE14 mission and vision !!!

He didn't voted umno out It is because there are no Leader in current govt All are Managers Luckily we have media like Malaysiakini They will sweep all info under the pillow Just because of hate Means They don't care about Malaysian They only care about politics

You just said we voted out Malays. Damn

95% of non malays voted for ph even when its manifesto was mainly focused on the malays. They only wanted najib out. They do not care about ptptn or felda issue. Less than 30% of malays voted for ph. So who were the 'we voted umno out'?

Everyone knows ppbm was created to accept umno members from day 1. It consisted of former umno members so it will make it easier for them to jump over. The only factor keeping them away is dap.

Dr. Mahathir knows what he is doing. The aim of the invitation is to cause Pas-Umno-Putra-Isma Malay jihadis to break into factions, quarrelling amongst themselves. Nothing more than that.

It's called self perseverance over PKR

He is senile
