YOURSAY | ‘Why all these imaginary fears? Do these people suffer from an inferiority complex?’

Really? The Gerakan Pembela Ummah group wants to organise a rally to “defend Islam”? Against what or whom? No non-Muslims are challenging it.

As for the Rome Statute, or the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination for that matter: does Ummah even know what these treaties are about? Or is the group just projecting its brainwashed nonsense? Do they know what is the basis of their anger? It is called hate, intolerance, bigotry, fascism and racism. The planned protest has nothing to do with religion.‘Defend Islam’ by rejecting an international charter meant to criminalise genocide, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing?

I think the police should nab them for holding this gathering on the grounds of provoking racial hatred against non-Muslims.Well, well, well. The fact that this ridiculous rally to ‘defend Islam’ is being held so soon with so little notice means that the Coroner’s Court is about to release its verdict on Adib’s death.

Harapan should audit Ummah’s finances, or at least those of component groups and expose it. Of course, we all know who is funding these groups, but it should be out in the open. For the umpteenth time, Islam is not and has never been under threat. Same goes for the Malay race.

I’m a practising muslim and I have never felt threatened, hence I don’t know what this is all about. I’ve lived in this country for 46 years and will continue to do so for as long as I can, Insha Allah.

The Ummah are the threat to Islam. As M'sian, we must be wary of such groups, people and organizations who will use any imaginary issue as a threat to Islam & claim to be its saviour. This is the same tactic use by ISIS and other radical groups to hijack Islam for its own agenda

They want to be arrested so that they can make an issue out of it. Their plan is to besiege PH with as many problems as possible to weaken the gomen then bring it down.

I got the same doubt... defending against what actually?

Politics at play

Threat to Islam is Islam itself.

Threat to political survival of certain people.

tak ada kerja lain

Precisely!

Can't understand this.

Because there are lots of other races in parliament plus Finance Minister & AG are not melayu !

Rome Statute is not about LGBT or against Islam, forum told | Malay MailKUALA LUMPUR, April 27 - The Rome Statute is not against Islam and it is unrelated to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, a public forum on the international treaty was told today. G25 representative Datuk Noor Farida Ariffin noted that there has been attempts by a member... All sounds good TODAY. But if sometime in the future some smart Alex invoke the Rome Stutute in his/her/their case. There is nothing to stop them, even taking the Govt to the Hague. Once it is signed it is signed. Backdoor to circumvent our Constitution. Decision is already made that we are not ratifiying the Rome Statute.... so just move on and dont waste time as there is a lot of other matters that need to be done... so G 25 stop those polemic and just help PH to do wat need to be done esp our country’s economic situation. Concur on the need for more public forums and telecast sessions. Awareness of the Rome Statute is very minimal and too fast to judgement by many.

Yoursay: 10 pct for non-bumis in matriculation intake is way too lowYOURSAY | ‘For a start, we should at least design a quota which is proportional to population size’. Such quotas are not right...educational belongs to all n must be filtered by merits, not race...i doubt Reid Csion was that stupid while drafting the policies back then.. chedetofficial u still can't put an end to this bullcrap, can you The main issue here is not quota. The main issue here is the more lenient and easy matriculation system as an easier passage to ipta. Hence, the quota issue arised. Everyone wants easy passage to ipta. Why cant both matric and stpm using unified exam to enter ipta? Merits And Not Quota !!!!!

Yoursay: Is it wise for DAP to stay out of Johor spat?YOURSAY | ‘The controversy between the rulers and Mahathir is not DAP’s battle.’ Wrong. The battle is not between Dr. Mahathir and the Malays Rulers. The battle is between the Federal Constitution of Malaysia and the Malay Rulers. Gone is the DAP prior to 9th May 2018. I missed that DAP.. the one that once stood up for the people dapmalaysia This is purely Federation of Malaya !!! affairs and problems !!! Parties who have interest have their rights !!! As long they read the right constitution document (Federation of Malaya 1957 constitution) to handle this is not a problem but interpretation of Spirits and rights !

Yoursay: A whiff of old Malaysia in contempt of court sentenceYOURSAY | ‘Even if the conviction (of Arun Kasi) was justified, the sentence is manifestly excessive.’ Fact is, in old Malaysia, militias and death squads could force the AG and the Judiciary to make decisions in favour of Najib Razak's gang of criminals. Look at what happened in the slapping case involving a schoolboy in Seremban. Federal Court were serious and tarnished the good name of the judiciary offended the dignity, integrity and impartiality of the court.' This is purely “act of dictatorship” to silence the aspiration of legal practices of justice !!! Of common laws !!!
