Dr M is not answering the problem itself. Should all Malays be allowed the backdoor; why deserving non-Malays are not allowed the backdoor; and how long more will this backdoor persist?
Once you have this system, then there must be a gradual decreasing of matriculation spots, and/or with it, balancing out the quota system. That's why people have been critical of Education Minister Maszlee Malik. The fact is that non-Malays cannot by themselves change things. They alone cannot make the system fairer and just. They require Malay support. And there are Malays who support the cause of just government.
Consider the plight of the average person. Most Malaysians are on fixed incomes. Perhaps the Malays are at 90 percent, Indians at 85 percent and the Chinese at 70 percent. And many families of all races are in the B40 category. As they say, it is insanity to continue with a policy that does not work and will continue to regress the country politically, economically and socially.Indeed, if the policy is based on needs, we can in fact give the poor Malays more than what they are getting. That is because the middle class and rich Malays are creaming off the goodies.
Can..if he is really a gentleman! Be fair as MALAYSIAN. All are human too..respect his power but sometimes 1 sided! Education should be fair & square...no back door! It will effect the overall standard of edu!

If u look deeply enough u will see that Umno mutated into this ultra discriminatory bumi party after Razak and later fortified by Mahathir. This is the source and substratum of an apartheid like Malaysia we see today. Don’t be lulled into thinking any problem solves itself.
The fact that Dr. Mahathir attacks Pas, Umno and the Malay Rulers tooth and nail is absolute proof Dr. Mahathir can free himself from the race, religion and raja straitjacket.
He was/is one of the creators (UMNO) of all this !!! using this as his platform of wealth and power !!!
