KUALA LUMPUR: Anyone who fails to furnish their identification documents when checked by the police can be arrested without a warrant, says Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.

KUALA LUMPUR: Anyone who fails to furnish their identification documents when checked by the police can be arrested without a warrant, says Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani .

"Failure to disclose identification documents when checked by the police is an offence under Regulation 25 of PPPN 1990. Acryl Sani was commenting on a statement in a news portal which stated that the police have no right to detain or arrest any individual who fails to bring or disclose identification documents when checked.

Agree. Only policemen in uniform could request for ID. Those without uniform must identify themselves first by showing his/her police card.
