PETALING JAYA: Independent combination Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi fell at the last hurdle of the Australian Open men’s doubles final in Sydney on Sunday . Yew Sin-Ee Yi, the world No. 8, were unable to finish their brilliant run with a flourish when they lost 16-21, 20-22 to China’s Liu Yuchen-Ou Xuanyi in 44 minutes.
The Malaysians, who reached the semi-finals of the Denmark Open in Odense last month, were expecting to win their first title of the year but the young Chinese pair proved strong.
