nch sensor fine-tuned by Leica. While the series was a China-exclusive during launch, many are hoping that it will be released in Malaysia but alas, Xiaomi Malaysia has today confirmed that the device is sadly not coming to our shores.

The Chinese tech company confirmed the matter during a media event in our country today. However, there are is some good news as during the same event, Xiaomi also revealed that another smartphone with a camera system co-engineered with Leica will indeed be coming to our shores in the future. Xiaomi didn’t elaborate on the details of this upcoming device, though it may potentially be a slightly tweaked version of the 12S Series made for the global market. Given the hype surrounding the 12S Series, especially the 12S Ultra, it is not unexpected for the company to release a version of the device with a slightly different name globally.

As of right now, the whole 12S Series is only available in China and enthusiasts outside of the country can only get their hands on the smartphone through third party import.
