KUCHING: WWF-Malaysia will be organising a two-day event to celebrate indigenous communities who have been championing conservation efforts in Sarawak in conjunction with International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.

The non-governmental organisation said it is line with its belief that conservation works effectively when indigenous and local communities participate in sustainable practices of land uses and are co-stewards with nature. The event on Aug 19, themed “Indigenous Youth as Agents of Change for Self-determination” will feature a forum and mini exhibition, and project site visit at the Borneo Cultures Museum’s Arts and Crafts Gallery from 8.30am to 3pm.
