JOHOR BARU: The Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry (MOA) will closely monitor the traffic of imported goods that are coming from China following the outbreak of the Wuhan novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

said that one of the imported items that has already been stopped was pork and pork-related products from entering the country.

“As for other products such as fruits, vegetables, and seafood, the ministry is still closely monitoring the situation with the help from the Health Ministry,” he said when contacted here on Sunday . Salahuddin, who is also the Pulai MP, added that so far no additional import ban has been imposed on products from China.

“Other items include apples, grapes and many others including seafood,” he said adding that the ministry would continue to monitor the situation.The first three cases were China nationals from Wuhan, family members of a 66-year-old Chinese patient confirmed to be infected with the virus in Singapore recently.The patients were part of a group of 10 that had travelled to Singapore from Guangzhou on Jan 20.
