Turns out, it's about a fun little word-based game called Wordle. But what is the game, and why have people been posting it on social media?

I first started noticing a few users on my Twitter feed sharing green, yellow, and white squares as tweets. I didn’t think too much of it until a couple of my friends started posting them, too. It dawned on me that this is becoming a worldwide phenomenon, and I had to figure out what the hell this phenomenon is.

is a simple word-based game that you can only play once a day. It’s also completely free to play, and can be very challenging.in 6 tries. Each guess must be a five-letter word. Hit the enter button to submit. After each guess, the colour of the tiles will change to show how close your guess was to the word,” wrote Wordle onYour goal is to figure out the word of the day, and the word isn’t the same for every player.

“The thing I like about it is that it’s short. Something like chess can take a long time but this one can take just a few minutes, and it is very mentally challenging and satisfying if you get it right,” saidWordle seems simple enough to grasp, but it can legitimately be difficult to do. I couldn’t solve the word on my first try, but they do give you the word when you fail.
